Attachment Disorder
Attachment Disorder is a condition affecting one’s ability to form secure bonds and maintain emotionally healthy and meaningful relationships, generally being unable to trust others or bond with family and friends. As infants we tend to attach emotionally and physically to those around us who respond to our needs, primarily our mothers. The way in which a caregiver reacts to the child creates an attachment style that primarily guides a person throughout life in other relationships. The four predominant attachment styles are: (1) Secure Attachment (2) Insecure Attachment (3) Insecure While Avoidant and (4) Insecure Demonstrating Disorientation and Confusion.
