Men’s Issues

Men of all ages, ethnicities and cultures are less likely than women to seek help for all sorts of problems — including depression, substance abuse and stressful life events — even though they encounter those problems at the same or greater rates as women. Men’s unwillingness and reluctance to get help can harm their own mental and physical health, making their lives desperate and difficult and affecting relationships with family and friends.

As men age, they tend to develop anxiety, depression and fear regarding health and finances. Despair and lack of significance and power can result in a severe or general malaise. Men often have a difficult time expressing their emotions.
